Peter Tierney

Peter Tierney is an Irish musical theatre writer, composer and lyricist whose work centres on character‑driven storytelling and long‑form musical structure. Great Expectations: The Making of a Gentleman is his debut full‑length musical, for which he wrote the book and composed, arranged and orchestrated the score.

Christine Scarry
Director
Christine Scarry is a theatre director whose work spans major Irish venues and international stages, including the National Opera House, Cork Opera House, the Olympia Theatre, the Everyman and Symphony Space in New York. She is Artistic Director of Red Alchemy Theatre Company and lectures on the BA Musical Theatre programme at MTU Cork School of Music. Her directing credits include national tours and a wide range of productions across Ireland and the US. In 2026, she directed the table read and staged reading of Great Expectations: The Making of a Gentleman.
Una NicEoin
Development Producer
Una NicEoin is one of Ireland’s leading theatre producers, with over three decades of experience across producing, arts development, education and cultural policy. She has held senior roles at Wheelworks, Belfast Metropolitan College, the Lyric Theatre Belfast, Creative Media Partnerships and Belfast City Council, and has been Executive Producer at Prime Cut Productions since 2009.
Her producing work includes major Irish and international productions, national tours, European touring work, and award‑winning collaborations with artists such as Oona Doherty and The Belfast Ensemble. She has produced work for the National Opera House, The MAC, Lyric Theatre Belfast, Dublin Theatre Festival, Edinburgh Fringe, Southbank Centre London, Brighton Festival, and venues across Europe, Australia and the US.
Una has served on multiple boards, including Chair of Ponydance, and regularly presents at international industry platforms including IPAY, IETM, Creative Europe and Baboró. She brings extensive producing expertise, sector knowledge and international touring experience to the development of Great Expectations.
David Hayes
Musical Director & Music Supervisor
David Hayes is one of Ireland’s foremost musical directors, music supervisors and orchestrators, with more than forty‑five years’ experience across theatre, television, film, studio recording and higher education. A graduate of the Royal Irish Academy of Music, he has led musical direction at major Irish venues including Cork Opera House, the Gaiety Theatre, the Abbey Theatre, the National Concert Hall, Wexford Opera House and Belfast Opera House, and has received numerous Best Musical Director awards throughout his career.
David has conducted and orchestrated for both the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra, has worked on original musical theatre productions in Ireland and abroad, and is a senior lecturer at MTU Cork School of Music, where he teaches on the BA Musical Theatre programme and curates new musical theatre writing workshops.
Thérèse O’Sullivan
Choreographer
Thérèse O’Sullivan is a choreographer, dance teacher and performer whose work spans musical theatre and contemporary performance. She has taught Dance and Musical Theatre in London, Ireland and Dubai, and currently lectures in dance at Munster Technological University, Cork.
She has created choreography for productions at The Everyman, Cork Opera House, the National Opera House, the Palace Theatre, Fermoy, and the Royal Irish Academy of Music, working across a wide range of musical theatre and performance projects.
John O’Donoghue
Set Designer
John O’Donoghue is a set designer whose portfolio covers more than four hundred productions across theatre and musical theatre. A graduate of the National College of Art & Design, he is recognised for his detailed visual storytelling, extensive experience across major Irish venues and long‑standing collaborations with creative teams throughout Ireland.
John has designed for the National Opera House, Cork Opera House, the Gaiety Theatre, the National Concert Hall, The Everyman and theatres across Ireland. His portfolio includes work ranging from intimate studio pieces to large‑scale productions, reflecting a design approach focused on clarity, atmosphere and visual storytelling.
